Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain language, exactly what PitchPerfect does and doesn't do with any data on your device.
At a glance
Microphone stays on-deviceAudio is analyzed in real time and never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
No account, everThere's no sign-up, no login, and nothing tied to your identity.
No analytics or trackingWe don't use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
No data leaves your devicePitchPerfect makes no network requests of its own, at all.
PitchPerfect does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage data, or device identifiers. There are no user accounts, no analytics libraries, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting services built into the app.
Your tuner settings (reference pitch, accent color, language, and similar preferences) are saved only in your device's local app storage, using the standard mechanism your operating system provides for that. They never leave your device and are deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
PitchPerfect requests two permissions, and uses each for exactly one purpose:
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Used only to detect the pitch of the note you're playing, live, while the Tuner screen is open. Audio is processed in memory and discarded immediately — it is never saved to a file, uploaded, or accessible to us in any way. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings; the app will simply stop detecting pitch until you grant it again. |
| Vibration | Used only for the optional haptic metronome beat, if you turn it on in the Metronome tab. It has no access to any data and cannot be used to identify you. |
PitchPerfect does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any to share. The app makes no network requests of its own — the only network activity you'll ever see is your device's operating system checking for app updates, which is standard platform behavior outside our control (and disableable in your App Store / Play Store settings).
Because PitchPerfect collects no data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect data from children either. The app is safe for musicians of any age.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does involve data — we'll update the effective date above and describe the change here in plain language. Continuing to use PitchPerfect after a change means you've had the chance to review it.
